Senegal: Nuorten voimaannuttaminen

Senegal: Youth Empowerment

The project aims to improve the employability of disadvantaged youth, ages 16 to 29, by providing demand-driven training in information and communications technology (ICT), life skills, entrepreneurship, and employment services. The project is implemented jointly by the Finnish Children and Youth Foundation (FCYF) and its local partner organization in Senegal, Synapse Network Center. The project is supported by the funding from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland to the development cooperation projects of NGOs.

Objectives

To improve the employability and life opportunities of 2,200 disadvantaged, unemployed young people in Senegal.  Participants will acquire employability, entrepreneurial, ICT, and life skills, as well as assistance with placement in jobs and internships and development of new enterprises.

  • Youth will be equipped with transferable and marketable skills which will give them direct access to long-term career opportunities and improved livelihoods.
  • The project will support economic growth in key sectors in Senegal by supplying skilled, young people to the job market. It will also encourage employers to increase emphasis on training, and to contribute the professional development of youth.
